Does Insurance, Medicare, Medicaid, Veteran Affairs pay for an Assisted Living Costs?

ANSWER:

Who Lives in Assisted Living Communities?

ANSWER:

The typical assisted living resident is a senior citizen who suffered a mild decline in their overall health, usually due to an injury, an illness or simply because of aging. They may experience challenges performing daily functions such as bathing or dressing, or have mentally declined. The comfort of a community and the medical attention received helps residents thrive. Not all residents of these facilities are senior citizens.

Do you Accept Residents on Medicaid?
Answer:
The short answer is yes, Medicaid can play a significant role in covering the costs of an assisted living facility for eligible seniors in most states. But there are a few caveats.
Medicaid offers varying levels of support for assisted living costs depending on the state’s program and your personal eligibility. While Medicaid does not cover room and board it can provide financial assistance for the cost of assistance with Activities of Daily Living (ADL’s) through a Medicaid New Choices Waiver program for qualifying residents.
